Solid Wood Countertops Norfolk Oak design and manufacture the most solid wood worktops on the planet. The first and only company to select furniture grade timber to make these solid wood worktops, we think they are stunning. A quick look at any of our countless photographs shows you why.
All of our temperate Hardwoods come from North America. For example, a Norfolk Oak walnut solid wood worktop comes from Wisconsin, where hot summers and harsh, cold winters make for the perfect growing conditions for the most beautiful grain. And one thing you want above all in a solid wood worktop is beautiful grain. Our Oak solid wood worktop comes from North Virginia in the Appalachian Mountains. We’ve spent countless hours visiting mills all over the USA to find the best hardwood mills, and we think you’ll agree it’s been worth it. That’s why we have so many photographs of our kitchen worktops throughout our website.
Our tropical hardwood comes either from Brazil, for Lyptus, or Togo, for Teak. We have chosen these mills for two reasons: firstly, they offer fully certified sustainable plantation timber;equally as important, they are one of the very mills which can consistently supply us with the furniture grade of tropical hardwood we require. And just like our temperate solid wood worktops, it’s immediately obvious why.
An average solid wood worktop will weigh anything from 55 to 75 kilos. That’s a lot of hardwood and a solid wood worktop! How long will it last? Well, properly maintained, a Norfolk Oak kitchen worktop should last around 500 years plus. Really!
Please have a look at the different species and designs of solid wood worktops we have, which will add the ultimate finishing touch to your kitchen.
Thanks!
